The Camper Life For Us {Free Printable}

This summer has been a delicious whirlwind of family and friends, sunshine, travelling and fun.  With very little else thrown in.  Hence the silence on this blog.

Oh, I suppose there’s been food.  There’s always food.  Good food.  which explains the squishiness I’m pretending does not exist around my midsection.  But but’s another post for another day.

We can hardly believe that school starts in 4 weeks – where has the summer gone?!  I was quite certain these three months would drag slow and hot (in the unsexiest of ways)…but then we bought a camper.  And we’ve ventured out every chance we’ve had since, hookin’ this bad boy up to our truck and heading for the hills.

We went south, to Indiana, where we hit up the Great Lakes Vineyard Pastor’s conference, and spent the evenings chilling with our friends around a fire while our littles slept inside.  We headed east, to the ‘thumb’, and settled into the backyard of some of our favorite people for the July 4th weekend.  And we’ve headed west, for our annual Manistee ‘family’ trip.  It’s been fun and exciting and gloriously relaxing not having to pack, and then unpack, all our camping basics.

We are totally sold on this camper thing.

Why on earth did we engage in the trauma of tenting for so long?  Sheesh.  ‘Glamping’ is the life for me!

In the mean time, as we wrap up our final summer days at home, I’m preparing for my first book-signing on Wednesday, with the lovely Shannyn Caldwell from Family Life Radio, and then I’ll be preaching for the first time at our home church (yeow!) on Sunday…and then, we’re heading for some mega hills!

We’re loading up and venturing out on our biggest trip next weekend : we’ll call our camper home for two weeks as we gallivant across the beautiful upper peninsula.  This girl is giddy with excitement (and highly likely in denial about the amount of meal planning involved in such a trip).  And the amount of laundry I’ll be buried in when we get home.  But… It’ll be a blast and the memories we’ll create will be well worth it.

So to celebrate…there just has to be a camper art printable on this blog.  But of course.

Easter reminds us that the tomb is empty. But befo Easter reminds us that the tomb is empty.
But before the resurrection, there was a towel.

In John 13, just hours before the cross,
Jesus doesn’t assert power, He kneels.
He washes the feet of Peter.
He washes the feet of Judas.
He loves them to the end.

🎙️ Episode 017 | The Jesus Way is live.

What does it look like to choose love in the middle
of betrayal, grief, disagreement, and struggle?
The way of Jesus isn’t flashy.
 It’s faithful.

So very thankful for the life that came from his d So very thankful for the life
that came from his death.

May you know how wildly, wholly
and wonderfully you are loved…

“This is how much God loved the world:
He gave his Son, his one and only Son.
And this is why: so that no one need be
destroyed; by believing in him, anyone
can have a whole and lasting life.
God didn’t go to all the trouble of
sending his Son merely to point an
accusing finger, telling the world
how bad it was. He came to help,
to put the world right again.”

Boundaries are not the opposite of love. They are Boundaries are not the opposite of love.
They are often the evidence of it.

Jesus touched lepers.
He wept with friends.
He restored the broken.

But He also corrected boldly.
He withdrew intentionally.
He did not entrust Himself to everyone.

You can forgive someone
without restoring immediate proximity.
You can love someone
without giving them full access to your life.

Love does not require unlimited access. In Episod Love does not require unlimited access.

In Episode 016 of Oh, Good Grief, we explore what Jesus
actually modeled when it comes to boundaries.

He loved everyone.
He did not entrust Himself to everyone.
He was full of grace and truth.
He welcomed the crowds, but confided in the few.

In a world that demands access to our time, energy, and heart, this episode unpacks what it looks like to forgive without naivety, love without losing discernment, and practice grace with guardrails.

Healing after betrayal isn’t linear. It’s messy. Healing after betrayal isn’t linear.

It’s messy.
It’s exhausting.
And sometimes it feels impossible.

In this conversation, Lisa Devine shares what it actually looked like to rebuild a marriage after infidelity: the boundaries, the brutal honesty, the forgiveness that had to be chosen again and again.

But more than anything,
it’s a story about the quiet ways God shows up
when everything feels shattered.
