Oh, How He Loves!

If you know anything about me, you’ll know how easily my inner-child is delighted.  It’s rather ridiculous, actually. I don’t think she gets out much, personally. Remember the time God scribbled a heart of clouds in the sky for my wee lass.  Woah mama. Well, He did it again…{while this photo does it little justice…this blueberry was heart shaped!} …and… Read More

Lettuce Be Real

It came up in conversation with a precious friend the other day…the difference between how cool and confident we may appear on the outside, and how insecure and fearful we may be on the inside. And, as it often does when I process ‘life’, my garden came to mind. I’ve never grown lettuce before, and was quite delighted at the… Read More

My Baby Daddy: A Tribute

“The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother” ~ Rev. Theodore Hesburgh My husband, and best friend…their daddy, and hero. I overhear them in the garage.  He is guiding the little boy whose lips might possibly be the most kissable in all the world – in how to hit the nail just… Read More

Cake Pops for Africa

I heart Africa, it’s no surprise. It’s been almost 5 years since I was ‘home’. So until we can return, as a family {with children old enough to endure appreciate the journey over the ocean}, to touch her soil and kiss her people, we will live vicariously through my baby sister who has just landed in Kenya, will be working… Read More

The Motherload of Wellness Thoughts

{I shared some of my notes from Temple Care 101 almost a year ago, but having just spoken on this subject a couple of weeks ago reignited my passion, so I wanted to revisit it and make the handouts available to you too!}   While often discarded as Eastern mysticism, I firmly believe the concept of Wellness is dear to… Read More

Weeding & Seeding: The Promise of ‘Instead’

I squat, huddled in decidedly Wintery garb, bracing against the force of this chilled Spring wind, soaking up every drop of warmth it haphazardly flings my way. Digging and ripping.  Nails, encrusted with dirt. Weeds seem to have taken hold early this year.  Or is it that they too have simply capitalized on the sunshine and forced themselves to the… Read More

Processing Life.

Life is fragile, this we know well. But we far too easily forget. We are rocked from our comfortable little worlds when headlines bleed with news of faithful soldiers and innocent civilians lost amidst the whirlwind of war, precious little lives snuffed out at the hands of those entrusted to protect and provide for them, hundreds upon thousands of… Read More

Broken vessels still pour. Broken vessels still pour.
Worship and lament were never meant to cancel each Worship and lament were never meant to cancel each other out.
They can — and often do — live side by side.
And the kind of worship that rises in the midst of pain
is a costly, sacred offering God treasures.

Praise isn’t pretending everything is fine, it’s r Praise isn’t pretending everything is fine,
it’s remembering who God is, even when it isn’t.
It rarely changes our circumstances,
but it always changes our perspective.

What could shift in you
if you praised God for even one thing
you’ve been tempted to complain about?

🎙️ Episode 3 of Oh, Good Grief | The Podcast is live.

In this week’s episode, The Sound of Surrender, we’re talking about what happens when we worship through the wilderness, and the way gratitude reshapes our view of God, of ourselves, and of the desert we’re walking through.

God is never careless with the pruning knife. If H God is never careless with the pruning knife.
If He allows something to fall away, we can trust His heart,
that it is ultimately for our good,
and for His glory.

Sometimes God prunes what is still alive. Not beca Sometimes God prunes what is still alive.
Not because He is cruel, but because He is kind.

It’s unbelievably hard to walk away from something that was once deeply fruitful. But when a season ends and God lifts His grace from that role, relationship, or project, lingering often hurts far more than leaving.

Trust His heart for you in the pruning. 🌱
He cuts with purpose, and always with love.

I stumbled across the word I chose and lettered fo I stumbled across the word I chose and lettered for 2023. Held. I thought it might reopen old ache. Instead, it reminded me of the deeper song beneath our hardest seasons: even in the unraveling, we were held.

And as a new year unfolds, that truth feels like a steadying hand.

Here’s to beginnings that hum with mercy...
sunrises, blankets of white snow,
seasons turning quietly toward hope.

Dream bravely.
Plan loosely.
Take the next small step.
Try again.

Be tender with yourself.
Honor the slow work of becoming.
And step into this year knowing—
you are held.
As we stand on the edge of a new year, remember th As we stand on the edge of a new year, remember this:
God doesn’t prune to prove a point;
He prunes to produce fruit.

Trust the precision and the heart
of the Master Gardener.

What felt like loss this past year
may have been His clearing away of the old
to make room for the new.
