Everyday Blooms | Ali Grace

This sweet cow-huggin’, cookie-bakin’, math-teachin’ Alabama girl captured my heart early on during our mutual rendezvous with The Influence Network. Her honesty and vulnerability is both refreshing and convicting, and her story hope-stirring. Meet Ali… WHAT’S YOUR STORY, MORNING GLORY? I grew up in a wonderful Christian home, but it wasn’t until I met the end of myself that I truly met the… Read More

I met this word-loving wife and mom, what feels like a million years ago, when my mum and I were speaking at a women’s retreat. Her and I connected on campfire benches and bonded over our mad love for writing.  I was immediately struck by her quiet strength and raw, gritty love for Jesus and her people. Meet Zena… What’s your story, morning glory?… Read More

This sweet gal and I actually go back about 30 years, all the way to St. George’s School in Windhoek, Namibia. We reconnected several years ago through Facebook, but have grown closer over the past 3 years as we’ve worked together on my books (she’s been an incredible editor and encourager – who also happened to help Deborah Kirsten with her gorgeous book). All the way… Read More

I met this feisty female several years ago when she was MCing an event I was speaking at..and she may or may not have been wearing massive amounts of camo and rhinestones at the time. I quickly fell in love with her sassiness, along with her delightful sense of style.  She’s a wife, mom & grandma, and a well-loved speaker & author. Meet Marlene…… Read More

When I joined the Influence Network last year, this lovely young lady stood out to me immediately.  Her quiet confidence and gracious leadership were disarming and refreshing.  And her Instagram feed is totally drool worthy. A wife, teacher & passionate foodie, I had the honor of squeezing her in the flesh for the first time last month at our local Influence meet-up…. Read More

I met this gorgeous gal a few years ago, when our husbands worked together briefly, and have watched from a distance as she’s walked through uncertainty and loss with a fierce and unrelenting faith. Her story of hope amidst heartbreak so powerfully tells of a God who “takes the broken pieces and makes them beautiful” [Ecclesiastes 3:11]. Meet Jenn… What’s your story, morning glory? In January… Read More

The enemy tempts us. Then shame convinces us to hi The enemy tempts us.
Then shame convinces us to hide.

But God’s first response to human failure wasn’t condemnation.
It was a question: "Where are you?"
Not because He didn’t know.
But because healing requires that we name where we are,
and freedom comes as we choose to bravely step out of hiding.

Why do we hide? Often it starts with something sma Why do we hide?
Often it starts with something small,
a moment of humiliation, rejection, or exposure.
And over time we learn how to protect ourselves.
We perform. We blend in. We build armor.

But long before any of our stories began,
God asked the first humans a question
that still echoes today: "Where are you?"

In this episode, I share a story from growing up in Namibia and explore the quiet ways shame can shape our lives, and the courageous invitation God extends to step out of hiding.
