Whip It

…whip it good!   {random glow-in-the-dark-stick finding meets later-than-normal bedtime}

The Kiddos

Clip It

After avoiding my ever-growing pile of unclipped coupons for far too long – and kicking myself in the store every time I would see something that’s on sale that I know I have a coupon for somewhere in that heap {at home}…I decided it was time I pulled back my sleeves and dove in. I […]

Alternate Post Title: Con{FUZE}d About What I Just Drank Warning: this post is long, but more importantly…it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s downright nauseating. {Consider yourself warned} Here we go… I was multitasking: bathing my little rascals while catching up with an old friend who I hadn’t seen for almost a year.  She […]

Dip It

Why is Bug smiling? Because he has just experienced his very first peanut butter dipping bowl.       And I think he liked it.

Nip It

They were the prefect baby shower favors. I left happily clutching my little pots of rosemary and licorice basil; sweet {& tasty} reminders of the mommy-to-be’s blossoming belly and the promise of precious new life within. Just two simple little sprigs sat in the small containers. The rosemary I repotted in a cute little green […]

Fall{ing} 4 Friendship

I love watching my daughter’s friendships blossom.  The older they get, the more it seems they appreciate those sweet bonds that have formed with other little people their age.  And the more sweetly and intimately they connect.  And – sweet relief – the less they pout, shriek and hoard. It seems they truly start to […]

Friendship, The Kiddos

Toes & Giggles

We had friends over yesterday and loved every minute of it! Their delightful daughter confirmed something I’ve suspected for some time now. I think 3 is my favorite age yet! Yes, the sassiness has the ability to drive me absolutely batty, and the drama makes me want stick my fingers in my ears, […]

The Black Dog

I must confess, I’m not a dog person. I always thought I would be.  And I really like the idea of being a dog person. But as it turns out, I’m not. I’m not a fan of dog hair on my floor, my furniture, my clothes, or anywhere other than…well, attached to the dog.  And […]

Quotes and Scriptures

Beautiful. Simplicity.

I adore the sweet simplicities of life.  The really simple sweetness’s of life. Leaves.  Bugs.  Oil marks on concrete.  Moss.  The perfectly baked pizza.  You name it…I’ll most likely manage to find some intricate detail that will make me swoon, and then grab my camera.  It’s like a disease.  But a good one {if that’s […]

The enemy may wound. But he doesn't get to write t The enemy may wound.
But he doesn't get to write the ending.

Morgan's story includes abuse, betrayal, fear, and years of healing.

Yet today she spends her life loving vulnerable children, opening her home to foster kids, and building a family rooted in grace.

What could have broken her became
the very place God planted compassion.
That's redemption.
Not erasing the wound.
Not pretending it didn't happen.

But allowing God to grow something beautiful from what was meant to destroy.

Some stories are painful to tell. And some stories Some stories are painful to tell.
And some stories need to be told anyway.

This week on Oh, Good Grief, I'm joined by the lovely Morgan Brailley, a survivor, foster mama, adoptive mom, and living testimony to God's redemptive love.

Morgan shares her journey through abuse, trauma, healing, foster care, and the unexpected ways God can bring beauty from the deepest wounds.

This conversation is honest.
Tender. Hard.
And full of hope.

Because trauma may shape us,
but it does not get the final word.

Grace and truth were never enemies in the life of Grace and truth
were never enemies in the life of Jesus.

He told the woman caught in adultery:
“Neither do I condemn you…
go and leave your life of sin.”

Mercy.
And honesty.
Together.

This week’s episode is about the rocks we carry—the anger, bitterness, judgment, and wounds we keep rehearsing long after the moment has passed.

Because sometimes the thing crushing our soul…
is the stone we refuse to put down.

Some wounds don’t leave us angry because they were Some wounds don’t leave us angry
because they were the worst thing that happened to us.
Sometimes they stay because they were the moment someone
stood close enough to see our pain… and still did nothing.

This week on the podcast, I’m talking about the rocks we carry—judgment, resentment, bitterness, offense—and the quiet ways they shape our souls over time.

This episode is deeply personal. Tender. Honest.

“Healing isn’t pretending it didn’t hurt. It’s ref “Healing isn’t pretending it didn’t hurt.
It’s refusing to let the wound become your identity.”

This week on the podcast, Dr. Ansonya Burke and I talk about forgiveness, leadership, emotional healing, and the sacred process of becoming whole after hard seasons.

There’s so much wisdom in this one.
Especially for the people quietly carrying more than anyone knows.

Some relationships fracture.
Some seasons unravel us completely.

But grace still has a way of writing beautiful endings.

In this deeply honest conversation, my dear friend Dr. Ansonya Burke shares about healing, forgiveness, wholeness, and learning how to release what no longer belongs in your hands.

This episode is tender, wise, and full of the kind of truth that only comes from walking through fire and finding God faithful in it.
